Extensions & New Builds

First fix to final finish

GT Joinery has years of experience on new build sites and home extensions. Whether you’re a homeowner adding a single-storey extension or a builder who needs a reliable carpenter for first and second fix, Antonio can take on the joinery from start to finish.

Having one joiner carry the job from the structure through to the finishing details means fewer handovers, consistent standards and someone who understands how it all fits together.

FAQs

Extension & new build FAQs

What is first fix and second fix?

First fix is the structural and “hidden” carpentry done before plastering – floor joists, stud walls, roof timbers and door linings. Second fix is the finishing joinery after plastering – doors, skirting, architrave, window boards and staircases.

Do you work as a subcontractor for builders?

Yes. GT Joinery takes on commercial and trade work as well as domestic jobs, and is happy to work alongside builders and other trades.

Can you take on just part of a project?

Of course – whether that’s just the roof, just the second fix, or the full joinery package.
